Review copyLincoln Crisler is very busy. Having just released his first full length novel Skinjumper, in November of 2014 (definitely worth a look), he's back now as editor of a new anthology of Dark Ritual tales from Angelic Knight Press who were recently acquired as the Horror imprint for Ragnarok Publications. That Hoodoo, Voodoo That You Do is brimming with 22 tales of ritualistic horror. The title itself may be a bit of a misnomer as there are an extremely diverse assortment of rituals found [...]

    • That Hoodoo, Voodoo That You Do is a horror anthology edited by author Lincoln Crisler and published by Ragnarok Publications’ new Angelic Knight Press Imprint. Its central theme is the concept of ritualism in the occult. It features twenty-two tales of supernatural horror and dark fantasy, with varying degrees of violence, blood and gore.Rituals have always been a powerful part of human life, from the ancient Aztec nation’s human sacrifices to the simple act of brushing one’s teeth in the [...]

"That Hoodoo, Voodoo, That You Do" and the cover art of this book screams read me. An anthology of 22 stories of black magic, necrophilia, ghost and the hoodoo voodoo of imagination. My liking having the weird or strong prose storytelling, Lincoln Crisler's anthology gave me just that. My overall favorite being "Sturm und Drang" by Jeff C. Carter. (See quote below) A very strong poetic short. I will be looking for more by this author. I plan on buying a hard copy of this book. I love the idea an [...]

    • Sacrilege, Sacrifice, Sex, and The Supernatural are all offered within each page of That Hoodoo Voodoo That You Do. This anthology features over 20 stories and each story brings with it a certain suspense that leaves readers in a rush to turn to their next page for their next fix of the paranormal, perverse, and pernicious. From Ken Goldman's "Young Girls Are Coming to Ajo" which features an ancient sultry Native American Succubus to A.J. Brown's "Afflicted", which gives off a sense of awe and m [...]

    • Maybe it's a little pretentious to review a book you've been featured in, but I have to say that this is a fantastic collection with serious talent. Every story was compelling, creative, and memorable. Though I would not recommend it for the faint of heart. There were stories and rituals that had even me shuddering. Definite recommend!

    • I’m not rating this anthology because I have a story included. I’d rated some earlier anthologies I’ve been in, and at that time felt okay with doing so. Now, I’m unsure. My feelings are changing about commenting on books with my name found in its table of contents. However, I will say this was a fun read. Lincoln Crisler pulled together several top-quality authors to tell a variety of twisted tales. I will be on the lookout for other stories from many of these authors.
